Now in its eighth year and still growing by leaps and bounds, the Bethesda Beatniks Dinner Club is by far the largest and most successful dinner club for mental health consumers, their family members and friends in North America. We meet at Alfio's Trattoria Italian restaurant in Friendship Heights, Maryland, right on the D.C. border, on the second and fourth Wednesday nights of each month for dinner, conversation and prominent after-dinner speakers.

We also stage various special events throughout the year, such as visual arts festivals, music festivals, fundraisers with live music and food, plus an annual post-Christmas holiday party. The Beatniks have been featured in The Washington Post, The Montgomery Gazette, City Paper, Psychiatric News, NAMI Newsletter, Schizophrenia Digest and on half a dozen radio stations.
